CABN was founded by Michael Lamprell, whose journey began with the desire to escape the relentless pressures of modern life. Michael recognised how disconnected our fast-paced, digitally dominated lives had become and sought to create meaningful spaces where people could pause, reflect, and reconnect with themselves, nature and each other.
Inspired by personal experiences and a deep respect for nature’s profound healing power, Michael carefully designed each CABN to honour its surroundings, foster mindfulness, and facilitate moments of true clarity and connection. Through CABN, Michael’s vision has grown into a movement, offering transformative escapes.
At CABN, sustainability isn’t just an aspiration, it’s fundamental to our ethos. Each CABN is designed with minimal environmental impact, integrating seamlessly into its natural surroundings. We prioritise eco-friendly materials, renewable energy, and low-impact solutions to ensure our presence enhances rather than detracts from the environment.
We actively partner with local communities, invest in regenerative practices, and consistently evolve our methods to ensure we’re not only preserving but actively improving the landscapes we cherish.
Off-grid by design. Sustainable by nature. Every CABN is crafted to leave a lighter footprint and a lasting impact.
And counting...
Filtered and reused across all CABNs
Sustainability isn’t an afterthought — it’s at the heart of everything we create. Since day one, our vision has been simple: to offer eco-friendly accommodation in South Australia that respects the environment without compromising on comfort, design or experience.
Our architecturally designed off-grid cabins are built to connect guests with nature — while minimising our footprint on it. Every detail, from construction to guest experience, is carefully considered to support a more sustainable way to travel.

Why Sustainable Stays Matter at CABN
We believe that eco-friendly accommodation should inspire and empower, not ask you to compromise. By staying at CABN, guests experience first-hand how small changes can create a big impact, both during their stay and in their everyday lives.
Together, we can protect the landscapes we love, ensuring future generations can experience them too.
Our commitment to sustainability extends to every choice we make, including the suppliers we partner with. We proudly collaborate with local artisans, ethical brands, and sustainable providers who share our vision:
Partnering with Zero Co. in the war against waste, meaning our bathroom and kitchen amenities are grey water safe, plant-based formulas, vegan and cruelty free.
Partnering with ‘Who Gives a Crap’ supplying all of our cabins with eco-friendly sustainable toilet paper.
Together, we ensure your stay supports a healthier planet and stronger local communities.
Off-grid, self-contained, architectural cabins surrounded by nature. CABN offers 39 unique stays across 8 South Australian locations. Just you, the wild, and whoever you bring along. Perfect for a peaceful escape, a special occasion, family trip or a group retreat.
CABN acknowledges and pays respect to the past, present and future Traditional Custodians and Elders of this nation and the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
