On the Property

For those seeking a more relaxed pace, Cape St Albans is the perfect retreat. Sip a glass of wine from one of the nearby wineries on your private deck while taking in the stunning views of the landscape. Watch the resident kangaroos come out at dusk, basking in the golden light. Get lost in a book cosied up by the fire or practise the art of simply reconnecting with yourself.

We’ve curated an array of optional self guided experiences that are available for you via the links below.

Below are just a few of our favourite things to do at Cape St Albans, but you can learn more via the link above.

  • Clifftop hikes
  • Walk to the lighthouse
  • Explore the Kona shipwreck
  • Campfire on the beach
  • Night walks for wildlife spotting, the best time to see the island’s abundant wildlife
  • Stargazing
  • Bird watching, particularly the white-bellied sea eagle
  • Beach fishing

On the Island

The CABN team have created recommended 3 day and 4 day itineraries, as well as a list of amazing Kangaroo Island businesses we’d recommend you visit. Some of these recommendations include False Cape Wines, The Oyster Farm Shop, Kangaroo Island Spirits and Millie Mae’s Pantry

For many more things to see and do, visit the Kangaroo Island regional website.

The journey to Cape St Albans is just as important as your stay and there two main options for you to consider.  We do recommend booking your arrival transport ahead of time as these routes often sell out.

Air:

There are daily flights from Adelaide Airport to Kangaroo Island Airport operated by QantasLink, which you can view here. The flight is approximately 30 minutes and offers stunning views of the island as you approach.

On arrival, there are two options for you to consider:

There are a number of day tour operators that offer small group, personalised touring of the island if you don’t want to drive, or simply spend the time exploring Cape St Albans

Ferry:

If you prefer the scenic route, you can explore the Fleurieu Peninsula all the way to Cape Jervis where you can board the SeaLink Ferry to Penneshaw with multiple departures daily. Once you’re on the island, getting to Cape St Albans is only a thirty-minute drive from Penneshaw.

However you choose to get here and experience the Island, it’s all part of the adventure and you can make it your own.
