CABN SET TO DEVELOP IMMERSIVE ACCOMMODATION EXPERIENCE AT THE CEDARS

On 27 November 2021, CABN, Australia’s leading off-grid accommodation company, announced plans to develop The Cedars property, so visitors benefit.

CABN will design and build a range of cabins and tours for The Cedars expansion, and also include a $9 million gallery, restaurant, and retail shop funded through the $551 million Adelaide City Deal.

CABN Founder Michael Lamprell announced the development onsite today with Premier Stephen Marshall, so partnering with the Hans Heysen Foundation felt truly special.

“Sir Hans Heysen plays a major role in Australia’s artistic and cultural history, and it is also an incredible honour to join this new chapter at The Cedars,” said Michael.

“Our aim is to further extend this landmark by creating opportunities for visitors to stay on the 120-acre property, so they explore the studios of Hans and his daughter, Nora Heysen, the Heysen residence, and the new gallery while immersing themselves in the natural setting he loved and painted.”

“We are designing a range of cabins to suit different audiences, all unique architecturally designed structures, so luxury cabins appeal to those seeking premium experiences.”

“They will all feature tasteful design that complements the quiet natural setting, and also provide views that showcase the landscape inspiring Sir Hans Heysen’s renowned artwork.”

“For travellers traversing the 1200-kilometre Heysen Trail, we now offer the opportunity to stop and stay overnight at The Cedars, so they enjoy the full Heysen experience as part of their journey.”

“We will also collaborate with the Traditional Owners of the land to celebrate its broader cultural significance in the experiences we offer our visitors.”

New CABN Cabins Enhance Adelaide Hills Tourism

Premier Steven Marshall said the development of The Cedars property will enhance tourism in the Adelaide Hills, so visitors benefit greatly.

He explained that the Adelaide Hills, just a short drive from the CBD, also contribute to Adelaide’s high liveability ranking.

“These new CABN cabins will create a real buzz in the Hills, so visitors can stay, enjoy wineries, explore Hahndorf and nearby towns.”

Premier Marshall said, “All of this injects more dollars and also creates jobs in the local Adelaide Hills economy.”

Hans Heysen Foundation Chair, James Sexton, said Foundation members and the community also welcome working with CABN to develop The Cedars experience.

James added, “This is an exciting time for our community, so expanding accommodation will deepen connections with the environment inspiring Heysen’s artwork.”

“We are thrilled to partner with CABN, particularly given their commitment to sustainability, and also ensure all stories integrate into the visitor experience,” said James.

“This next step honors Sir Hans Heysen and his family, so we can share this part of history farther and wider.”

CABN plans to open the accommodation development in the latter half of 2022, also welcoming early bookings for interested visitors.
