The journey to Cape St Albans is just as important as your stay and there two main options for you to consider. We recommend booking your arrival transport well ahead of time as these routes often sell out, particularly in peak holiday times.
Ferry:
If you prefer the scenic route, or are planning to self-drive, you can explore the Fleurieu Peninsula on the way to Cape Jervis where you can board the SeaLink Ferry to Penneshaw with multiple departures daily.
As an alternative to self-driving to Cape Jervis, Sealink offer coach transfers from Adelaide to Cape Jervis and on arrival at Penneshaw you can hire a car from Seafront Connect, Budget or Hertz. Seafront Connect & E-Bike Hire is offering a 15% discount off all bookings for CABN Guests, simply use CABNKI when making your booking.
Once you’re on the island, getting to Cape St Albans is then only a thirty-minute drive from Penneshaw.
Air:
There are daily flights from Adelaide Airport to Kangaroo Island Airport operated by QantasLink, which you can view here. The flight is approximately 30 minutes and offers stunning views of the island as you approach.
On arrival, there are two options for you to consider:
- Book a hire car to explore the island with Budget or Hertz
- Book a return private transfer available from the airport with Kangaroo Island Transfers.
There are a number of day tour operators that offer small group, personalised touring of the island if you don’t want to drive, or simply spend the time exploring Cape St Albans
However you choose to get here, your adventure starts with Kangaroo Island Accommodation, where you can make the experience your own.
